I have the same situation and aren't that happy with the decals you get on the internet. Where did you get the vinyl negatives from?

Loving that work. I have some delta covers I need to do similar to , got the decals, just need to get a mirror polish as you have ( any tips ? )

Not much building going on BUT last Friday I completed my personal cycling highlight of the year:
A 300km ride with 3,000 vertical meters taking my friend and myself from Munich over Austria to Italy for a quick Espresso - and back to Germany.
We had loosely planned this for a year or so and with the current weather conditions plus the two little ones the odds were at risk until the last minute.
We had to shorten the route by 25k in the end because a thunderstorm caught us in the middle of the mountains, but except for this, it all went pretty well.
I was in a good shape (for only 2,500km this year), bike was awesome and planning/nutrition worked very well, too!
Below you see some photos along the way and here you find a little reel about the trip:

Hope you like it
Cheers

Great accomplishment, I would never be able to do that

Instead carrying around bags of white powder I highly recommend holding on to the plastic tubs of electrolyte tablets, and fill them with carbs to take with you :)

That would make sense but wouldn't create such photo opportunity.
I'm not suggesting to buy yet another Saeco CAAD, because why would one want a Saeco CAAD3 and Saeco CAAD4, right? :)
I'll be back in Berlin the next month so I could help with pick-up/postage/check the bike before you buy :) -

These plastic tubs that tables come in. In my experience they’ll fit ~38g of SIS go carbs if you compact it by knocking/tapping it against the kitchen counter.
Less mess, preportioned, easy to store in jersey pockets with gels…etc :)No funny picture opportunity though :(

Ah now I get it! I was thinking too complicated 😇
Good idea will keep it in mind
It was my first ride over 200k so it was also my first ride which needed a certain amount of planning, hence thankful for every advice
I think with this setup i can do all types of day tours up to 400km
To dos:
Buy light torque wrench
Buy larger bottles
Portion carbs
Buy very light rain jacket
Buy multitool

all 172.5?
-
• #742
Yep!
(Of the ~10 I had and the ~20-25 I‘ve seen elsewhere, all were 172.5)

Okay here‘s a little tl;dr info on the upper right crankset with the silver chainrings for you guys:
I was lucky and nerd enough to pick up a prototype crankset of the FC-7800c limited edition one.
These prototypes were ridden one year before the official release by various pro teams/riders and back then, cycling magazines seem to be curious af as they weren‘t labeled (plus shimano had never released a carbon crankset before)
In particular, they were ridden on the UCI Pro Tour 2007 by pro teams Team Rabobank (NED) and Team Gerolsteiner (GER) in the Tour de France and the Tour de Suisse.
I don‘t know how many prototypes exist(ed) but in more than half a decade I have only come across this pair, apart from news articles from the sightings back in 2007.
Given that the official release was limited to 500-1000 worldwide (i‘ve not yet figured out the precise number), the prototypes should be much rarer
Any way, for me it is a nice find with some history to it so… happy 😊

The Asics tho 🥵
Silly shoes apart how are those cranks compared to a modern shimano one? -
• #745
That picture of the Gerolsteiner S Workses (S Workii?) with shallow Dura Ace tubs is dreamy! Funny era for bikes and components never quite matching

I never thought about this but your observation is fkn precise 😅
@carlosbrown I only used it on my first Saeco build and I didnt do many KMs on it but from what I remember is that it was not (much) different imho

Oh and this happened (in May or so) to pull the Thule double child trailer.
Funny little thing, ORBEA KATU-E
My first disc brake bike lol
After more than 300km on it I can say I am very happy and the price was reasonable. however, the assembly (orbea or LBS, not sure tbh) was pretty much shit. Almost every part went loose in the first 100k: bike stand, rear wheel, headset, fenders
Also the hydraulic lines were 3 meters too long…
Now all sorted for free after the first inspection

Wow they red/grey in the back was such a mess… plus Seller stayed silent about a TT dent which I generally love

Still one or two team bikes to collect 😉
Re-logo‘d some de-logo‘d DA 7710 cranks
Id say its at 95%. If you fully zoom in you can see the outlines are not 100% perfect. But on a bike it looks awesome and in particular much better than without a logo
