Might be the end for Planet X and On One.

I have two pompetamines. They've served me well over many years.

Anyone in the market for a pompino v3? Thinking of selling mine but not sure on price. Frame is in decent condition, built with a mishmash of parts (as is tradition). Shimano mini vs (which are fab), old ultegra front wheel, cheap rear wheel with rusty spokes, full mudguards. Set up fixed 44/16 at the mo. I’d probably keep the ATACs and bottle cage plus stick another saddle on it. Great bike but I just don’t ride it anymore. Think it’s a Large but will check. For comparison I ride a 58r Strael and both fit (6ft on the nail)

What's overlap like on small/medium Pompino's? I'd like to run 35's with mudguards fixed and it's a total non starter on my Steamroller.

Terrible. Check out Genesis Day one instead.

I have an OG XS and my pedals hit the mudguards.

Any toe overlap? What’s the fork?

Maybe £250-300?
@jono84 are you sure toe overlap is an issue? I mean in general. The only time I've ever actually noticed it is when I was going 3 miles an hour attempting 45 degree turns, usually stuck behind a bus or some nonsense. All my fixed are small bikes so it's present on all the bikes, but it's never an issue. I guess maybe it could crop up slow gnarly off road stuff, but that wouldn't make sense with guards or fixed. Maybe fit the 35s and guards on the steamroller (as long as the don't foul the DT of course) and enjoy. Looks like Wence has installed big ass flat pedals, spds (needed for fixed) I doubt would hit the guards

Used to ride those pedals fixed too (no straps though). Similarly never had toe overlap issues after about the first half hour of riding.

Normally, no, i've had bikes with much worse overlap and been fine. But currently i have a load of trapped nerves in my back that is making certain types of riding (i.e 45 degree turns at 3 miles an hour) pretty tricky. SFSS but i took my "quick" track bike out today and was actually more comfortable blasting around on that than i was pootling around on with steamroller setup as a single speed. That might just be because i haven't free wheeled in a few years and need to get used to it. Either way July has told me i need proper mudguards so i need to sort something and figure if i'm changing frames i might as well tray and eliminate the overlap. Especially as you've got me worried about clanging PDW's without flexy mounts!

Tell me you live in the UK without telling me. Yeah all that is fair! I did a panic search on ebay for a Genesis Flyer for the war chest, overlap is not that bad and I think cheaper, better, and more comfortable than your average surly / steamroller. Might be a few on the bay in your size. Didn't mean to panic you about PDW guards btw! Just try and install some in the 4/5 months
edit: can't take 35s tho, 28 is probably your max with a flyer

Maybe switch to a 26" Disc Trucker fork (45 mm vs. 38 mm offset)? That should give you a little more clearance. I'm not sure how much though. Maybe someone on here has been using that exact setup with mudguards.
Edit: Just saw your Wanted advert. You've obviously thought about going the trucker fork route already. ;-)

45mm offset worked! But...

Hi there, quick question:
- grx mono crank would fit for a track oriented rear wheel (keeping 120mm for now..) ? Qfactor of grx 1x is 151mm / omnium crank is 145mm
- Same question for a 135mm wide hub ? would it be better ?
Many thanks :)

Are you still looking to sell your Pompino? I’m in the market for something like this, message me if you are!

Thinking about the Mulo. I know a couple of them are owned by forum members. Any thoughts on a 650x47b setup working on one? We’re obviously going to ignore the rear brake situation.

Good question I'll see if I can get a measurement, I'm running 700x 42s comfortably, I guess it will depend on how nobbly they are

Can anyone recommend some silver metal mudguards which would fit a v3 Pompino (XL size with OG fork)? If money were no object I’d be looking at some VO or PDW guards, but since this is a commuter which gets locked up outside from time to time I’d rather go for something a bit less spendy. I’m currently running 32mm tyres but if there was room to upsize at all that’d be a bonus. Ta!
That’s a spicier price than I want to pay!
