Got this 1994/5 ish Trek 8300 carbon. Tubes bonded into alloy lugs style, but lots of nice features on thr frame, minimal corrosion, used but not wrecked, no play or tubes coming apart yet. Mostly original parts on it suntour mtb thumbs and shifter, I think an early xt or xtr rear qr if anyone can identify it, suntour foe most of the other parts.
Fork is wrong, think it's about 4 or 5 years newer but geometry ok.
Going to try and it get it as original as I can
Makes a nice contrast to a modern29er carbon enduro machine!
Customers mint Mtrax Ti, very original extremely low use and again functional no failed joints yet.
Also have an early 9s xt equipped Orange Prestige lying around thats in very tidy condition, Judy long travel and Use fittings. Never meant to but slowly building a classic mtb collection

More pics. Alloy sections have a rad dark grey on light grey speckle, kinda looks like dirt as haven't cleaned it or done anything yet.

rebuild the cotic simple with 29inch wheels (again), and a bit more XC. bottom bracket is somewhere over the rainbow, but rides "normal". regarding the weather forecast for the coming weekend i should've mounted fenders.

@fredtc they feel fast (equal the conti race king), good/save handling on singletrack, even in loose sand... don't know about mud yet. may be a lot better tubeless, i guess, but i'm lazy.

Another lucky kerb find. Wild paint plus room for 700 x 35s. With flat bars it will make for a fun get around bike.

Anybody know of any shops in east that would drill an Alpina fork crown?

I assume you've already tried poking it with a stick? If it's the usual rebadged 4ZA Ellypse, the rigour with which the brake hole is obstructed varies wildly, sometimes there's no more than a bit of body filler to remove

Feels like pretty solid metal sadly. I drilled one about 8 years ago when i had access to my schools pillar drill and that also had this weird threaded piece inside the crown

Yeah, mine was screwed too, I only mentioned it because people who had been lucky enough to get the "filler only" variant took the piss when I said I'd had a fight with it
