Nice! Is this a size 62? What's the toe overlap like?

I know this is a cross check, but

Nice!
You should try some real bullhorn bars (you can thank me later)
Edit: your seatpost is backwards -
• #3182
Ha, you're right about the seatpost, lol! :D Getting really bullhorn curious! These were just some cut drop bars I scavenged from the local bike kitchen, but judging by the feel of these a proper bullhorn with more reach would be in order!

Steamroller mudguard update. 45mm PDW's do fit but max tyre size i can squeeze on under a Shimano or TRP caliper is a 32c Gravel King SK. Tight though, pretty sure i could hear the tyre stubble catching on the rear. I think you could squeeze on a 35c GKSK on the rear if you ditch the caliper and go fixed but it would be tight.
Definitely prefer the ride on 35's so currently deciding between SS with 32's and easily avoidable overlap or Fixed with 35's and run a Disc trucker fork for more clearance/offset at the front (my cleats are way back and i get foot jam making tight turns with the stock fork).
Bit of a compromise for the effort, anyone doing a Steamroller type thing with front and rear discs and useful mounts? That isn't a £1K All City...

Do a 650b conversion, with a 42mm tyre you've got roughly the same diameter wheel as a 700x28, then just fit long drop brake calipers.

Nice idea but i'd rather not go down the 650b route as i'd be looking at new wheels, brakes and guards. Given the lack of mounts on mine might be time to think about a better base for a chill commuter.

Yeah that's what i want. If i were starting over this is the route i'd go but after a shit ride home i think i'm giving up!

I always wanted more from my steamie and even though the geometry is a wee bit different, I felt the CC was then logical step . The build options are endless plus the ability to run up to 700x50 is fantastic. I guess the deal breaker is the canti studs over caliper (?)

I might be selling my Pimp soon if that'd fit the bill? Frame only but just about fits 38s and guards.

Yeah i was thinking about trying yours but it sounds like i'll have the same issues with a small Pomp as i do with the Surly. Do you still have the OG fork? The one above makes me think i should give SS another go.

Possibly although i can see why you went that way. For the amount of headspace this is consuming i'd like to think i could do better than p clips and electrical tape for guards and a rear brake.

You're welcome to borrow it for a while if you fancy! I thiiiink it's a medium but I'm not certain. I don't have the forks unfortunately.

Put on a new cog and chain, swapped out the slicks for a pair of GK:s. I'm in love again. The steamroller is a lot of things, but the thing it is on 35-38mm tyres is just the best! Still digging the silly bars, such a stupid bike <3 -

Anyone after a steamroller fork and mid drop brake to match?

Did enjoy this for the wet commute this week

Anyone after a 53? I'm thinking of putting mine up for sale either as frameset or full build pending what would be more desirable.

How much do you want for it ?
What's the maximum legal amount of spacers you're allowed to use on a steamroller, thinking of getting one but need about 2 inch of spacers if I want to use drop bars
