Nah, 400 all in, but we only have one large and one very small window.
IIRC Velfac and rationel were 60% more.

Reg windows, you could do the small side ones pvc and the front and back alu which might be a way to save a bit (but prob not).

Another trick is to board out the inside once the windows are fitted making the profiles smaller from the inside. 11 is a lot of windows, which isn’t going to be cheap!

personal experience of having ~30 identical 60s houses that ours is part of (that are all strictly still the same due to estate covenants/enforcement)

• a handful have the original single glazed, metal framed windows
  
• vast majority have had them replaced with UPVC double glazing over the years
  
• ours has 'thin profile' aluminum windows (fitted by previous owners)
  
  

the styles of all three had to be identical in shape/layout, but if you're actually looking the aluminum ones look so much better, like the original they have noticeable more glass and noticeable less frame than the others. Definitely worth it IMO.

'Flush sash’* makes a big difference too, it’s often a small upcharge on UPVC but looks much better

*all glazing on the same plane and not the opener protruding out.

So much cleaner.
There’s a house a couple of streets over that have painted their old uPVC windows green which matches their render and works really well.

So the new lowered suspended subfloor has now been started. The existing sleeper wall things removed and rebuilt today. The builders were waiting for mortar to set so didn't attach the joists but they've all been cut to size. Hopefully fully framed out tomorrow so the plumber can come for some first fix and UFH on Wednesday. Not sure I would have gone to the effort of lowering everything if all of the services hadn't had to be moved anyway.
All of the electrical circuits seem to contain things they shouldn't so everything seems to need to be remediated.

That looks so great. I need to do something similar but instead of a knackered raised floor, need to break out a presumed uninsulated mass concrete floor.

Thank you - I’ll ask the suppliers what the price difference is likely to be roughly for aluminium. Absolutely agree it looks better but I keep having to tell myself I won’t be here forever and the house isn’t worth enough to spend a fortune on!

Busy day on our tiny kitchen project today. 6" x 2" subfloor framing finished and some insulation put down. Ply sheets down (but obvs not fixed down yet) so the plumber can start the UFH and first fix tomorrow.
The heating and riser pipes to the upper floors will be going into the ceiling (which will be lowered ever so slightly).
Seems that there was also some wallpapering done in 2016. Big Millwall fan.

Forbo Marmoleum:

We're looking to use the 2m-wide rolls for our 6x6m kitchen extension, so will need a pro installer to do this.

Anyone had marmoleum installed in roll format, and could recommend a fitter in London's famous?
