UPDATE: After 6 months I have decided that unfortunately this frame is too small.
I'm happy with the 52cm seat tube but the top tube is too short with painful wrists and feels cramped.
I will get a proper bike fit in due course but believe that 52x54 will suit me best.
The wheels are sold to apollo.

Longer stem not an option or is it really that short?

I could try out a 130mm stem and was considering changing to bullhorns as I'm not using it on the track.

Top tube don't always tell the story as the seat angle make a big difference.
a 1 degree steeper seat angle = 1cm longer reach.

Ok. I googled seat angle and I see what you mean. So if I measure the set back of both frames (my brother has the Jamis) I can get a better idea of sizing?

Happy to say I've now sold this onto peck123.
Look forward to seeing it built up again.

Really pleased with the frame called the shop today and the chap said they never actually made frames and it's was probably made by autostrada or before that dolan and either sprayed or built up by the shop.

Mike Kowal's made loads of frames for various shops, mostly Ribble. I don't think he had any sort of 'trademarks' that makes his bikes obvious. Touring frames are what he was good at, I've got a weird 853 90's pursuit frame and I've seen a handful of lugless road frames but never a lugged one so there you go!

Bit of a thread resurrection here. A long story but having moved to Derby from the IOM a couple of years back the intention was to fulfil a track hobby dream.
However a pelvic pain/ prostate issue kept me off the bike for a couple of years.
A couple of months back I found a way back in to the bike with a compilation of ibuprofen, brooks saddle and double shorts and so now I’m looking to do the track.
My Alfano track is still a work in progress but I still have this Eddie McGrath so I’m going to re commission it.One immediate problem was that I sold the wheels I built. As luck would have it @countryboj split his gorgeous fixie and sold me these Campag Seoul 88’s on Suzue Pro Max hubs…

He left the tubs on and also the 15t cog and dura ace lock ring. The front tub has a slice in it and will need to be changed but other than that they are immaculate
