  • Herbie was the step after Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk, and I haven't heard anybody yet who has come after him - Miles Davis

a beautiful tribute for Wayne Shorter, musical influences from the US, South America and Africa.. voice synth moments, 80s drumming patterns with a trap-esque stack cymbal (smack stack) for those distinctive break beats, powerful horn solos, incredible guitar synth riffs and a bass sound to give you goosebumps. Herbie Hancock on an assortment of keyboards. Bringing tons of instrumental weaponry to a 90 minute show.

At 83 years the man still has loads of swag, revelled with delight in front of a full house. Acoustically the whole set was solid.
