  • I'm looking forward to it. It is a two owner bike. The seller got it in '08 and has one of those genuine reasons for selling. A bit rude to ask but I'm sure he'll tell me when I pick it up. It's done 68000 miles, recent new clutch, just had a 12000 mile service, new tyres, new longer Hagon rear shock (might need to change that), all the original factory hard luggage, various Wunderlich parts: rear light, bar risers and touring footpegs.
I've never even ridden a GS before though I have owned a very tall Yamaha XTZ660 Tenere and an R100RT and an RS. This GS is a bit modern for me.

  • I was in a similar situation, have an '79 R80, couldn't resist a bargain R1150RS '02 I think with a genuine 12k mileage. Was useful for a bit of motorway work I wanted to do. Had a few cosmetic issues which I fixed then it was stolen in Mayfair.

Before it was stolen I rode it and the R80 back to back in town and ended up preferring the R80 at those speeds. Still a lovely machine though, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
