  • I've got Veepeak and it's always worked well in lots of different vehicles. Would recommend.

Finally got this gone to a dealer (for a borderline insulting sum of money) but at least it's gone!

It's already making me think I'd like something similar with a proper engine 🤔

  • Don't bother with any of those. If it's anything like my Triumph, you'll get fuck all info. I've tried about 8 so far. Just take it in to a workshop.

  • Specifically which Triumph?

  • Veepeak

Cheers. I'll grab it and try.

  • I haven't been on here for about 5 years since I sold both my bikes and I thought I was done with bikes. I'm about to buy a twenty year old full dress R1150GS. I'm getting excited as the days count down until collection. I just thought I'd share. There will be pics.

  • A GS you say

    _>>>> middle aged thread

    Congrats.

  • Tiger 800 with ODB2 plug. None of the ones I bought read anything, till I took it to local abs they read it for free.

You got the spanner or EFI?

  • EFI

    Triumph Scrambler air cooled (2006 - 2016)

  • Back in the saddle here too, had a spin on the 1000 Varadero I was offered and couldn't say no.
5 years off while the record of the last theft disappeared from my insurance, now I just need a fresh MOT.

  • Be interested to know what you make of the engine at low rpm. Pretty sure they all only had one oxygen sensor so sometimes it gets the fuelling wrong at low speeds. They are incredible engines though, took me a while to stop bouncing off the limiter going through the gears.

  • I'm on a 2013. It was a pain in the ass finding anything that worked. From what I was told, software just isn't available to read Triumph ECU's. Only proper workshop stuff is.
Honestly, it wasn't worth the hassle of trial and error with readers and whilst I normally work on my bikes, in this case, I just took it in.

    What's showing on the speedo?

  • What are the age parameters of the mifddle aged thread? This could mean I will live to 126 years old.

  • I'm looking forward to it. It is a two owner bike. The seller got it in '08 and has one of those genuine reasons for selling. A bit rude to ask but I'm sure he'll tell me when I pick it up. It's done 68000 miles, recent new clutch, just had a 12000 mile service, new tyres, new longer Hagon rear shock (might need to change that), all the original factory hard luggage, various Wunderlich parts: rear light, bar risers and touring footpegs.
I've never even ridden a GS before though I have owned a very tall Yamaha XTZ660 Tenere and an R100RT and an RS. This GS is a bit modern for me.

  • I was in a similar situation, have an '79 R80, couldn't resist a bargain R1150RS '02 I think with a genuine 12k mileage. Was useful for a bit of motorway work I wanted to do. Had a few cosmetic issues which I fixed then it was stolen in Mayfair.

Before it was stolen I rode it and the R80 back to back in town and ended up preferring the R80 at those speeds. Still a lovely machine though, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

  • Engine Warning Light solid amber.

    So no way to diagnose.

However, after a long run on A roads and M25 it's gone. 🤷‍♂️

  • Maybe oil pressure sensor is conking out? I've personally only had the light come on once, and it ended up being MAP sensor.

Obviously I'm going super broad over here as they're totally different bikes; but the architecture for Triumph diagnostics should be similar-ish.

I bought this, but got zero results from it. Seems to be highly rated, so well worth a punt?

  • Not mine just liked it and thought I'd take a photo.

  • Nice signpainting on it

  • Series 1 Frame breather with the turning mudguard, with what look like original (possibly) Vigano fork embellishers. Very nice!

  • It was just the main fuse!

  • Nice scooter, like the fuel can on the side.
Curious as to what the bike under the cover in the background is - wierd looking fork.

^Result with the fuse, that Yamaha is a nice looking bike!

  • I love the way the twin headlight super Ten looks like the twin headlight Exup 1000. Both so handsome.

  • The bike under the cover looks like another lambretta.
