If you're carrying that much daily, I think an audax may be a bit small.
You could always have someone replace the leather straps on your nelson with poly webbing and plastic buckles/clips.

I did this and have no regrets. Huge improvement on the fiddly leather straps and cheaper than buying a whole new bag

That’s the next craft project sorted then!
Just need to source some nice plastic buckles as the ones I have are a bit shite. Probably worth buying some nice patterned webbing too.
