Yes you're right. So he has to ride over it to the start of it on the west side, then back over east. Fun! Which is what I tried to say by, Ride it the wrong way first

Strassser's navigation was his only weak point last year. It's done otherwise.

I think he's picked a reasonable route for minimising climbing until now, and there isn't a lot left until he's at the top of the San Bernadino pass. But it won't take long for the next two to get to Bellinzona.

I assume he's going to be even faster this year given he worked out some of the tricks of unsupported last year.

Anyone taking the banned road should be DQ under rule 10.

Depends what rule they put around it.

Do riders using banned roads ever get DQ'd or do they just get moved out of GC and/or time penalty? I got a time penalty for using a banned tunnel one year (I only realised after I'd gone through it and emailed them about it after I'd done it, because if they were going to DQ me, why spend another week riding across Europe).

Strasser won't start the parcours before the other two, they will be on it well before he's finished the descent down to where it starts.

Looks like Robin Gemperle (#3) stopped for 6hr last night and should hit the start of the parcours around the same time?

Now it makes sense how he got such a big gap. It's not a gap. :)

This isn't just a banned road by tcr now, it's banned by swiss government too, plus tcr made such a big deal about it. So a time penalty isn't enough. If you take it, your a dick or stupid. Can't claim mistake or ignorance here.

I don't know how much of a big deal they made about it. I wasn't there.

I'm just telling you what has happened in the past. Some of their banned roads were stupid. That tunnel I took didn't have a single car in it. The road was lovely. Some local idiot must've got a fright in it and reported it or something.

That is what happens, some local gets excited about busy roads, which are actually quieter than anything in SE England, and they feel obliged to fall in.
