Marathons are the dream! They were what I used for years on my old Galaxy. I actually bought some 27.5 x 2.0 Marathons but couldn't quite squeeze them in. I didn't try the 1.65's as I was worried about BB height... they might've been fine but I was keen to get something as close to 1.9" / 48mm as possible.

Schwalbe Marathons come in 27.5 x 1.65 and they are almost impossible to puncture in my experience
