It was hilariously simple, because the test gear needed the bonnet to be open, the ECU ran a different map when it read the bonnet as slightly open to cheat the tests.

I'm trying to attach my tubeless inflator to a right-angled chuck (stupid TT disc wheel). It looks like I a need a female to female hose connector, which come in a variety of sizes but I'm on holiday and can't measure up. Maybe 3/8", 1/4"? It's whatever the outer thread is on a standard bike pump.

Bonus question; I have a road liner inside one of my race wheels so I can in theory ride back to the HQ if tubeless puncture doesn't seal. Installed all fine but now trying to get the tyre off is impossible - some less optimistic forums have said you have to just sacrifice both the liner and the tyre and cut the whole lot off! Any tips?

Anyone know anything about buying gold? Not investing but literally buying a piece of gold. My son is curious about it so I thought we could get a gram just to look at it and be amused/out of pocket, but no idea where is reputable for tangible things to be sent out in the post.
I planned for it in Wales and found some flakes years ago but might take a while to scrape together a gram.

You can get gold leaf from here:
https://www.cornelissen.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=gold+leaf
Although I suspect you'd need a fair bit to make up a gram. -

The Royal Mint will do you bars from 1g upwards (about £70).
Hatton Garden Metals lists smaller ones, but they're out of stock.

Every day's a school day.
ETA - Akshully, I dunno why I am so surprised by this.
I used to buy silver all the time from the dealers in Hatton Garden when I was dabbling in silversmithing. -

A small piece of gold is postable, http://www.cooksongold.com is a #tester_approved shop. For example, 0.9g of 22ct looks like this (5mm is the minimum length and width, but they do thinner sheet)

I would get him a nugget of pyrite and then let him compare it to some jewellery if anyone in the family has something gold. I had a lump of pyrite as a kid and found it fascinating along with something like this that I used to think super cool

Thanks all!
Re ^ he has some pyrite and a bunch of other rocks (they're minerals , Marie), but he's actually interested in the idea of trade/value. I explained some people invest in it and he said 'that makes no sense whatsoever', so thought it'd fun to have a token. We spoke about some people putting value on bottles of wine and that appreciating over time. "What about sandwiches?".

If that's the case check out bullionbypost, they aren't always the cheapest but gives you loads of options from bullion to coins

Thanks. That was the kind of website I found earlier but wasn't sure how legit they were. Coins might be fun. Can definitely see it being lost though..

Don't go turning him in to a goldbug, he'll be on reddit before you know it posting all his silver and gold bars he's stock piling for the great reset

Thankfully he's 6 so his knowledge of Reddit and the NWO is fairly limited.

I read Frozen last night and realised Are-na is spelt Anna. Why isn't it pronounced anna?
Is it to make it more scandy?
-
• #117993
Yeah, it's set in a fictional place that's based on Norway.
-
• #117994
And that is also how Americans tend to pronounce it.

Has anyone got recommendations for a decent, reliable "man with van"? Specifically someone with a Luton.

Does anyone have any personal experience with the new wave of mail delivery mattresses - Simba, OTTY, etc
I've pretty much always slept on IKEA or shitty sprung mattresses - I'm fine with IKEA but if there is better value for money out there I'd be keen to know...

• #117998
We've had two Simbas, very happy with them. Pricing is volatile so worth keeping track of prices

I dearly miss my Simba.
