  • I'm trying to get a train from Calais to Paris with a bike, but doesn't seem to be any availability on those trains. Even checked from Lille, also nothing. Anyone know if this is possible?

  • I looked into this a while ago, although I was going the other way, and found it nigh on impossible. I think if you piss about and get a local TER train to Amiens, it's just about possible, but it is a faff.

  • The TER from calais to lille, you shoudl be able to take a train without bike booking, with bike hooks.
the Lille-Paris requires a bag and a booking as it will be a TGV.

i am not suprised the online booking doesn't return an option as those TER trains might not take bookings at all.

The best crossing one can do it Newhaven-Dieppe. you can TER it to Paris with a changeover in Rouen.

  • I have done Calais frethun (the tgv station on edge of town) to paris, change just outside Rouen somewhere for ter train. The first leg is on a tgv train with a ter number so bikes are supposed to be bagged but they let me on with wheels removed. I think the k16 TeR from Calais ville is also actually a tgv on a TER route so you can’t book bikes but in reality if you make a vague attempt to bag it - I’ve seen people just putting a bin bag on top, you will get on.
