bodged as i don’t have a vice. used 5mm rod (https://www.diy.com/departments/varnished-drawn-steel-round-bar-l-1m-dia-5mm/254224_BQ.prd) and generally g-clamped it to a table in between some ply offcuts, used my hands to bend it or another pipe sleeved over it as a lever, bent around an old stem for the under-stem bend to get the radius right

Yeah wow. Not sure I'd trust one of those to make a square enough cut for that... Although maybe that Birzman guide craps on the Park ones I'm familiar with.
And hey, if you're going to cut much carbon, you'll have a way better time with an abrasive blade...
-
• #2908
Skill with a sprinkling of luck left a pretty perfect cut.

The park ones are shite eh? We have them in work and I hate myself every time I use it.

Those green bits coupled with the crank arm look like two eyes in a very sad face with a stuck-out tongue.

Old inner tubes make great belts for pannier bags to keep them from jiggling around. Bonus use is drying socks and bibs on the move.

Not quite a bodge but if you find the single anchoring hook at the back not enough you can buy them as spares and add a second one.

you can also 180° twist the ziptie before you insert the pointy end in the hole and it will jam just enough without the tab locking

Nice! Also, looks like the gate handle possibly used to be some sort of kitchen implement

If you happen to have nice SPD shoes that Spesh fitted with treads not fit for purpose and find yourself walking on the cleats, shoe goo some new ones..
Wouldn't fancy taking them off-road again but perfect for road.
-
• #2924
Excellent. What did you use as replacement tread?
-
• #2925
Layers of shoe goo I reckon.
Been looking at Jack but also can't bring myself to pay £100. Really like this. How'd you bend it?
