  • Gutted. Will be missed.

  • Big Dave of LMNH fame has opened a workshop at Hop Kingdom, Druid Street SE1.

  • Good luck, need a decent place in se1

  • When did it open?

  • Hey guys don’t know if this is the right place to put this but opening a little bike work shop and cafe over in Acton/park royal in the coming weeks.

Looking to be a kinda community base project to get more people to cycle and teach people how to fix bikes. Build up second hand bikes for people to use in the area and encourage cycling in general.
Any advice welcome, and if you have any work shops bikes you wanna sell or know anyone that is lmk!

  • Nice! Where? I'll pop down when you've got going.

  • Also in the area and interested in coming down when this is set up—sounds very cool!

  • That would be great!
It’s in 17-19 Sunbeam Road, Excelsior Studio, London, England, NW10 6JP

Hopefully be all up and going in a Few weeks!

  • Amazing! Ya the coffee shop is up and running and the bike shop should be coming together in a few weeks! Just waiting for the space to become available and I’ll be setting up next to the coffee cart I have already!

The coffee place is Called brew collective LTD

  • Sounds good. I want to swap my crankset. Usually I would teach myself from youtube and manuals, but would you be able to teach me how a pro mechanic would do it? If so, how much would you charge? I've got lots of carbon components these days and maybe I need to learn to be less cackhanded so I don't damage them. (I've never used a torque wrench.)

  • Happy to show you how to do that once we are all set up! It’s pretty straightforward depending on the bike.
If you wanted to come use the tools and have me show you I probs wouldn’t charge it would kinda be a pay what you think kinda thing.

With carbon you’ve just gotta be carful loads of people crack theirs when they try do it themselves. I’ve been there 😂 but happy to have you here and show you stuff.

I’ll post in here once we are open 😁

  • Thanks! Sounds like a plan!

Friend and former colleague has opened up a workshop behind Hop Kingdom in Bermondsey.
Big Dave knows his shit. Go see him for all your needs if you’re in that area.

  • Hey everyone! Update on the bike shop we will be opening this monday! So if you’re in Acton and need anything done swing by!

  • rate this, Dave knows his stuff and very nice guy!

    FPC :D

  • A&S Cycles are opening a shop on the upper end of Lower Clapton Road. Not sure whats happening to the shop on the lower end of Lower Clapton Road.

  • whats happening to the shop on the lower end of Lower Clapton Road.

Hub Velo? Hope they are still there.

  • Hub Velo are still there. This is further south.

  • You mean the current A&S on Urswick Rd (end of Lower Clapton Rd)? Pretty sure they moved like this before, so it might be the same thing going on again.

  • They're still around; drove past today.

  • That one is still there. New smaller shop is further up. Next to Pillow Heat, the vintage Vans shoes place.

  • Interesting. Thought the industry was taking a hit given the decline post-covid boom, so didn't expect new shops. If anything, I've seen more e-bike/scooter workshops pop up.

  • There seems to be more repair shops than actual retailers appearing imo. the small town where I live in Derbyshire now has at least 3 bicycle repair businesses which aren't retailing per se.
