  • They actually manage to hold Uxbridge on a 'fuck the environment' ticket. Let's not forget the nasty party have more strings to their bow than simply 'fuck forrins'.

  • winning by 495 votes after a recount

    That's properly tight.

From what I've seen of Uxbridge, I can well imagine it's got an insane number of non-ULEZ vans and green low tax diesels. I don't think you can read it as a vote for the Tories, more a protest vote against ULEZ expansion.

  • Uxbridge just goes to show we shouldn't forget how much wider London folk love a Tory. And a car.

  • Also just as a csb and because I've got no one else to relay it to... I had a long dinner with my dad who was bemoaning the polarisation of politics, and essentially that you can't debate rationally with people anymore.

We came on to the topic of ULEZ, and he argued that given that we know that these emissions kill people then anyone who was against it was a murderer. But apparently people get upset when you tell them that.

  • More stuff dropping about Dan Wootton, great that he and his values have been endorsed by Andrea Jenkyns and Lee Anderson.

Still nothing to see there, much more interest in the Farage banking non-story.

(Ok, somewhat tangential to The Fall of the Tory Party but both these creeps are getting a lot of support from the government including the spineless PM who oddly, won’t say anything about Johnson and his lies nor his acolytes attacks on the Privileges Committee #priorities)

  • More stuff dropping about Dan Wootton

I'm only seeing things on the story from earlier in the week. Do you have a link to the new allegations?

  • Cheers

  • Jesus. What a cunt.

  • I’m surprised we don’t have a Dan Wootton is a massive cunt thread, seems like an oversight.

It’s striking how differently the Wootton story is being covered compared to Hugh Edwards.

  • And such surprising behaviour from a paper that recently outed a man with a history of mental illness

  • Huw Edwards was just personal dirt, plus he is the No1 news reader - the one who tells us all the bad news. The Sun was gleeful in the carnage it caused within the BBC. Horrible stuff from a horrible paper.

While Wooton is still a big deal - he's nowhere near Huw Edwards in terms of profile. I'm sure huge numbers of people have never heard of him. And all the Wooton allegations surround the murky inner workings of the tabloid press - so there is very much a skeletons in closets cancelling out skeletons in closets issue - hence why it's mainly covered in Byline - a new newspaper with no closet.

  • Given that The Sun appear to have supported, almost encouraged Wootton with their non-action/promotions/NDAs etc, their actions re Huw Edwards are particularly egregious hypocrisy even by their standards (I know, I’m shocked does speak to the base hypocrisy of The Sun though (I know, I’m shocked!!! Actually I am, if accurate this crosses the line much further than I’d have imagined)

  • Gotta love the Express, they’re framing yesterdays results as a sure sign the tories will win the next GE :/

  • Just have to convince all labour / lib dem councils to propose a ULEZ in the next few months and they will be a shoe in.

Good summary of the shit that awaits us by Dunt on twitter:

  • Uxbridge just goes to show we shouldn't forget how much wider London folk love a Tory.

That's Greater Ruislip for you - chock full of cunts.

    Come at me, @mespilus

  • Regarding migrants, there are governments, even in Europe, complicit in what I would call genocide, there are plenty of awful, horrible, inhuman policies and behaviours all over the place, but none quite so brazen about it as the UK government. This is the fucking dark ages. Absolutely shameful, those people have no morality whatsoever.

  • I don't think I've ever been to Uxbridge but this pretty much confirms that I never should.

  • Government mandate urban air pollution must be cut and limit the ways this can be achieved, mayor implements policies to work within those constraints, populace vote for government as protest vote against cutting urban air pollution, mad world

  • The tories moaning about a young labour guy getting in and that it was like someone from the inbetweeners. Lack of life experience etc etc etc

I do agree with the lack of real life experience but at the same time what is the real world experience actually doing with all the other ones that have been in. It just seems like the life experince they cunts have is to take take take and bleed dry until they are pumped out.

    Clowns

  • They also just put a 29 year old in the house of Lords for life

  • I know, the full thing is a fuckin joke who was caught partying during covid too with them.

Politics as a whole is fuckin done imo they are all bad guys shouting that the other guy is badder.

  • Busy today,
    but,
    was expecting this!
I have no remit for South Ruislip.
Local councillor candidate turned the bye election into a single issue: ULEZ.
