If this is the 4S Disc hanger, it's not this...

The on one lurcher has an fsa gossamer crank in a pf96 bottom bracket shell. So what bottom bracket should be there.
Seems that fsa have a bad rep, currently running a 1x set up which might not be right for the crank. So what crank and BB would be more suited to the set up?

Any decent bodges to face a T47 bb? No one seems to have the tools for it here. Attack it with a file? It's campag pro torque or whatever the new bb is called, and the crank doesn't spin freely because the shell is slightly too wide.

Machine shop that could skim it flat? Big pillar drill with the frame flat so a correct flat surface can be attained to the BB.

How about some kind of BB press with a cup on one side to hold it straight and a grinding wheel on the other side that you can turn by hand?

How much facing does it require?
If it’s just to skim paint off then a fine file laid across the shell should suffice.
If you need to remove metal then you’ll be wanting something to ensure your square to the threads.
It should be too difficult to make a set of guides to go with the Park Tool BFS1 if the facing cutter on it is a large enough diameter? I think it’s the same cutter that gets used for the headtube facers and there’s a larger version of it that might be something more places have?
Getting the thread cut on the guides would be the hardest part. Maybe they could be 3d printed if it’s a high enough resolution print? Failing that, a bit of aluminium turned down to be a snug fit inside the threads might be enough?

Will I die if I carefully sand the anodising off this seatpost, just the part above the insertion line (i.e. anything extending into the frame I don't touch). I am confident that I won't leave any scratches/dents/etc, if that matters.

I used oven cleaner to strip my paul callipers. It was so quick and easy I wouldn’t consider any other method tbh.

Look here https://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk/ to see if they have something similar. Can email them and they will tell you if it is proprietary. Hope that helps.

I don't think you'll easily be able to sand it off. They have machining marks on, not a smooth surface so you'll have to sand the post smooth to actually get into the grooves. Strip it, as above

Amazing. What are the ingredients?

What are the ingredients?
Oven cleaner has all sorts of shit in it, but the bit which dissolves aluminium and to a lesser extent aluminium oxide (i.e. the anodised layer) is sodium hydroxide, as discussed several times on here before, e.g. https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16749121/incontext/

Many thanks. It's a great tip.

It's a great tip
Continue reading that thread, other people with practical experience weigh in with more useful tips than just naming the chemicals

I shall. I like the idea of multipurpose wonder-products available from local shops. They can be so useful when camping/touring in remote places.

Has anyone ever had a Pantour suspension hub? I bought a folding bike when I had a broken ankle and have just got round to riding it. The hub doesn't seem to have the elastomers in it anymore, so it doesn't work.
This is the manual
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/364248/Pantour-Pantour-Suspension-Hub.htmlI've ordered some urethane bars which I'll try and cut into blocks or at least shapes that fit.
It confused the hell out of me when I first looked at it and why the brakes were missing the rim

Getting internal sponge dampers into your frame with the cables inside . What a absolute gynaecological knightmare !
-
• #4846
Shit’s wild, yo.
How do these work with rim brakes, some kind of funky motion trajectory?
-
• #4847
The rim on the front wheel has a deeper brake track.
I'm wondering if I'm better get a new hub and rebuilding the wheel.
But I've spent a tenner on the rubber rod, so I'm a bit invested

11G nipples, I can't easily find any in the UK. Anyone got a source?

Nope.
