All the feeeeels.
Thanks for your response.
I understand from your post that wider gives more opportunity to ride low pressures?
I'm kinda new to these tyres measured in inches instead of mm and noticed I like higher pressures more then lower because it feeeeels faster.
I'll cross post to CP too though because I'ld like some more viewpoints notwithstanding the authority of oh hail thee tester..;) -

Not just my post, that's been the central thrust of the wider rim movement for about a decade

Too short?

If it's not binding you'll be fine, you shouldn't be in that gear in actual use anyway. Did you size the chain doing big/big ring not through the mech plus one full link from the shortest you can make it?

Best everyday/budget-ish padded bib shorts and tops?

To avoid researching current thinking on pressures I use the Silca calculator https://silcavelo.eu/pages/sppc-form

Go for a ride with a nice repeatable section on real road surface (not super smooth or super rough) at your normal pressures with your favourite measuring app and don’t look at the results. Let a bit of air out and repeat, let some more out and repeat until the tyres feel loose /squirmy, then put about 5% of that pressure back in and repeat the ride once more. Look at your times and that last one will be your quickest time. Why? Because you glide over the road surface? Because you don’t have to worry about hitting that small bump and that raised manhole cover? Or is it because you know the section like the back of your hand and miss all the bumps and divots anyway and know where to put the power down etc? Now pump your tyres back up to your old normal pressures and repeat the route. You’ll let air back out, what feels fast and what is fast are two different things. Even if it’s not faster you’ll still let air out.

4kw mid mount or hub motors, what are the options?

Death or glory

Bro, are you a dentist? Beginner riding a bike? Got sold on a MLM scheme on e bike conversions? Or you just don't give a hoot?
Your brakes won't be up for it. Nor the forks would at 4k wherever the motor is, especially IF the motor is on the front.

Thanks, now all those deliveroo drivers on argos MTBs with AliExpress ebike front wheels are somehow now even more frightening :/
-
• #117939
Case in point.
Snapped forks droupouts as they file it down to fit the front motor, snapped IS forks tabs (yep!), same on the rear with the difference being the wheel and/or the brakes would never fooking line up cos of the bodged rear motor!

:D Better to burn out than fade away :D
I asked here because it’s not for an e bike, but a Grom/gag type thing a mates building. All the motors they’ve looked at are too big, I thought a bike one could be smaller? 4kw is the biggest you can legally fit as a 49cc replacement. Oh and it’ll be limited to 45kph honestly…

Don’t worry, I’ll not be riding it. I’m far too big for that sort of thing.

Phew!

That's a thing? I only ever size it big big but with no RD involved and add a link.
Nevermind, I now see the "not" through the mech. Fuck this I'm going to bed.

Yes that’s my method. Just feels a bit tighter than usual and I haven’t sized a chain for 53-34 before. I like to be able to run big-big.

I bought some bibs and a jersey from the below after a rec on the Orient express thread. The jersey fabric feels very similar to what Rapha are using for their synthetics and most importantly, no branding.

Is there a way to see upcoming tour stage actual routes in the format of say google maps online?
Stage 20 of la Vuelta is coming through a town near me (3 times in a loop no less) and i'd like to see the actual roads they'll be on. Thanks -

Is there a roof rack thread?
Or, to keep it in context for the OP, bamboo is rayon.
