I agree. But being a former media person who is really panicking about climate change, I'm always thinking about how to get the message across before it's too late. And nearly all my black friends/acquaintances have told me the papers and the government are liars. Which is true. Distrust has been massively magnified by the Windrush scandal, the endless murdering of black guys by the police, Covid, the lockdowns, the US research scandal etc etc etc. I get too agitated about things.
Even without all the mad generalisations and outright bullshit. The daft focus on not seeing too many black people at climate protests can be explained somewhat through the fact that only 2.5% of the UK population are black, even in London where that's 13.5% the protests themselves won't be solely by Londoners, obviously Nick has explained that some of his best friends are black and seemingly a lot of his unfortunate neighbours so maybe he's just got a skewed idea of actual demographics and is wondering why all the people he sees locally don't think the same as him and go on protests when really those protests are attended by a small amount of people from most communities.
Either way his original post should've read "I asked two dickheads in a range rover to stop idling but they acted like dickheads and refused, I wish more people knew idling is dickhead behaviour."
