  • Do you think it could be the case that it is just seen as an electric version of a "normal" bike, and that to Joe Public, it's not any more valuable than a cheap eBay e-bike or conversion so they ran out of people who would buy it?

    Bafang and tongsheng? Main eBikes I see round here are conversion jobs. Other factor is probably E-scooters which outnumber ebikes by comfortably 4 to 1 round this way. Guess when vanmoof started they were less of a factor.

    I think they probably did over complicate/custom their bikes, which made them too expensive to make but also in turn made them unreliable, they apparently had a high proportion of returns/repairs. But it would be wrong to say they didn't sell. I see loads around London.
