Nice one! I saw a few pbs from yesterday's race and yeah looking at the course I think you could shave some off. Was nice weather for it

as up there ^
they're all similar, do some base runs and then do some faster running is the mix.
I used run fastr and got down to <20. Once. that's all that's needed right? -

193 bpm - impressive!
We’re you pleased with the time?
I find 5k the hardest to pace, its like finding that line just below sprinting yet fast enough to be completely fucked by the end of it.Need to have another stab at it and see if anything’s changed.

It was OK if over par (19.04) by about 30s, I felt awful warming up just sluggish so had low expectations. Hopefully it helps for next one.

Yes. I think 800m to 5km all has the potential to be horrible. 10km requires a bit of holding back that makes it slightly more bearable (very slightly) but I've not raced that distance on road since pre-covid times.
Need to have another stab at it and see if anything’s changed.
Enjoy & let us know how it goes

Even better 👍 I fancy the Wildhorse now they've changed the Pegs yet again. I loved the earlier versions

Managed about 10 minutes of running last night during an orienteering event with all three kids. You'll be pleased to know I finished first, and beat all three of them
My ankle swelled up massively at the end of it all.
Here's a photo from their website. Right leg was the broken one.
If you haven't done orienteering before (we hadn't), it is great fun. We all highly recommend it

I have a place in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October but won't be able to use it. Anyone want it for the transfer fee? I think it's £5.

Another hard 5k race effort. 18.03 (kiprun carbon assisted) edit hitting 190bpm briefly 2 miles in wasn't in the plan, wheels didn't come off completely though.

Haha, nice. How are the Kiprun super shoes? They look (and feel) pretty great.

Also shoe related. Got some Takumi Sen 8s and ran in them for the first time last night. Did a 1:25-ish half which was slightly surprising. Probably a bit narrow for me to take any further than a half without getting a bit uncomfortable but they’re absolute rockets.

I've no carbon to compare them against but they're defo doing something for me. The reviews say the plate takes a while to get to best effect, so hopefully they can help me be a sub 18 v50 in a few years!
1.25 half is rapid, nice one.
Snuck an 8 second PB at ASICS 10k today. 36.22 on a slow course so pretty pleased with it.
Was on for a 5k PB on Thursday but unfortunately the course was short, so I'll settle for 16.44 and a 4.82k PB
feels like <17 and <36 are doable on a good day and a fast course, both of which felt totally unachievable a few years ago
triathlons up next though
