Did he though, or did he just give a typical politcal non committal answer either way?

Yes they said the recommendation would't be compliant with thier fiscal rules so wouldn't commit to following the independent bodies advice, we are back to living within our means and fixing the leaking roof
What is the point of having independent pay review bodies if you won't commit to respecting thier recommendations
