That frame is a beauty! Paint + race number hanger + internal brake routing + puffy tyres and trad drops 👌

That's lovely, as always with your builds @retrodicorsa

I've got one of these built up with Potenza, fabulous frames, GLWS

Thanks to all for kind words/props, I built this up for one of my sons in first lockdown, not had much use in terms of miles (local hill reps then school commuting) and just retrieved/serviced. As with all my builds I will include a year's free servicing (not including parts) and after-sales. With the 'puffy tyres' (😂 @mattyc 👍) it's a plush, good handling ride. There's a surprising amount of tyre clearance - pretty sure you could run full mudguards with 25s, or get get something like Schwalbe G-One Speed 30s in there. Only caveat is even with the 28s, partial deflation required to get wheel in and/or out.

Decent pedals, alternate saddles and less 'puffy' tyres (or even puffier!) all options, along with wheel upgrades if interested.

Fab @retrodicorsa, nice job, shows your skills

Very nice bicycle. Clearance for that size of tyre on a 90s bike is pretty rare, no?
-
• #10
This seems like a pretty sweet deal and @retrodicorsa really knows how to build up a bike.
-
• #11
Indeed, I was very surprised. The Arena brakes not so accommodating but like I said you can get 30s in if you let a bit of air out first. Ideal retro Roubaix or Strada Bianchi bike 😉.

@Foreigner65, @Rastapopoulos, thanks for more kind words ☺️
To share the love... pinch, bump, 1st of the month - £10 off this weekend 😉👍
C'mon, someone must NEED this - it's 50% red so 50% faster! -

Lovely for someone .
Those frames are super nice and a super pimpy groupset. -
• #14
In my experience, dutch road frames of that era tend to have more generous clearances than say italian or french frames. My BRH fits schwalbe 32s (real 30mm) and my Batavus easily fits 25c gps with guards. A friends duell easily clears 28s. They usually have a very nice and tight geo (wheelbase on my BRH is >98cm and they usually have BSA threaded BBs - ideal for neo retro builds. Echoing the others, great build, GLWS.

Jeez, was looking for Duell for years, this is the right size and price. Dont want to dibs before I can sort out a pickup.
-
• #16
Sounds like it has your name on it 😉.
Whereabouts are you? -
• #17
OK so I'm stripping this down tomorrow because I need the space, the parts will go back into the stock room (aka bedroom!), frame and fork (plus headset) now on sale for £150 collected, or shipped to your door for +£15. Lovely frame, it won't get any cheaper than this... last chance for complete bike at £650

Gorgeous. Interested in the group set and wheels if splitting
-
• #21
Noted, I have one possible buyer for complete bike and interest in frame and fork so anything is possible, will update the thread as things progress.
-
• #22
Well that was harder than expected at that price but congrats and many thanks to @Rastapopoulos, the new owner of this fine steed. Commiserations to the disappointed parties who have expressed interest in frame & fork, maybe I can interest you in something else?
