• MOVED TO EBAY - PLEASE DELETE. Splitting this bike - I am based in Bristol but can post for cost. PM for more details.

Forks - Salsa 26" v brake and disc - good condition just the usual scuffs and scrapes £75

Headset - Chris King 1 1/8th - questionable condition, lots of cable rub and 'patina' with non-original plastic baseplate (it seems to be the right angle and has worked faultlessly on numerous bikes over the years) £50

Stem - Salsa Cromato 120mm 1 1/8th - will be sad to see this go, really good condition and super solid £40

Handlebars - Surly Sunrise 22.2 - uncut and as far as I can see, unmarked £40

Wheels - Son dynamo/xtr hubs with Kinlin ADHN rims 32 hole - built about 9 months ago they run true, spin good and creates a consistent bright beam with the edelux (not included) £140

Cranks - Middleburn RS8 175mm w/ shimano Ultegra BB- stiff and no play but the chainring is proper dead, included for making into a wall clock or a throwing star £75

Brakes - Shimano XT v brakes newish design (?)- these work flawlessy although will need new pads and have a couple of weird bolts because of the mudguard clearance and front rack, hence the price £20

I also have the VO noir mudguards which I could part with, the front rack and basket and some other bits. Keeping the XTR levers, Edelux light and Flite.

The frame is up on here too if that's of interest - let me know if the prices are off. Cheers

  • DMd about the brakes

  • Second dibs bars please

  • Also dm’d re brakes

  • Forks should be 425 a-c I reckon

  • Some wheel pictures - £140 is a steal in my view.

  • Maybe? On inspection, they look closer to 420/425 as you say.

I’ve always ran them as suspension corrected forks on various hardtail frames designed for 100mm suspension.

should be 430/440 for doing that, no? hard to tell in the photo where you're measuring from at the crown, should be the shoulder where the headset race sits? (looks maybe slightly lower but maybe just photo angle...)

  • The definition of ‘Suspension corrected’ depends on the era. 420 was traditionally equivalent to 80mm travel, 440 for 100mm travel and 460 for 120mm

  • Oh am I measuring from the wrong place? The end of the tape is level with the centre of the drilled hole in the crown in that photo.

From the bottom of where the crown race fits, it’s 440 to the centre of the drops.

I’ve ran these on a ‘99 Lava Dome, a ‘01 Rockhopper and the ‘06 Explosif in the picture and they all rode nicely and looked ‘normal’.

    Thanks for the education, everyone

  • Rear mech up for grabs? If so, I’ll take it
