An engineer friend of mine has raised concerns about the joint tho. He thinks it is a very narrow point where it attaches to the seat tube. That tab is 6mm thick flat bar but fillet brazed for more stiffness. We will see how it holds up, but my gut feeling tells me its gonna be fine.
As an alternative, could you make the seatstays end in a single tube which gets clamped between two plates, one on either side of the seattube/toptube cluster? It wouldn't look as elegant, I'd admit.
Thx! Me too. I have not taken any photos yet but my own AWOL has been brazed and part filed and it looks great. Sort of a fast back tribute.
