  • Thought I would give a quick update on this.

So it took me a while to report it but I did get round to doing an online report. I gave all details, times, dates etc. The form is not great and I would of preffered to speak to an officer before but as they didn't really help at the time, the form was the next option.

I received a call today from an officer who firstly started to question me about the date of the incident while sounding a bit annoyed. I explained that I had an inury and admittedly have been slow at reporting but felt it was important to report it incase the driver was a danger to more people.

For the whole call the officers tone was very much, this is routine and not worth their time but they have to make the call before they bury it. The officer ended with she doesn't know what route they will go down but they will be in touch. We can all make our own conclusion on that one I think. It felt like she really had no interest which didnt surprise me and definitely confirms why a few of us have doubts about reporting this kind of incident.

I hope the driver has reflected and doesn't act like an aggressive arsehole towards other cyclists because I'm sure he is now aware that he can get away with it. Maybe the met will surprise me but I doubt it.

  • I was rammed several times Saturday morning but avoided being hit, the altercation ended with the driver pulling beside me with window down and spraying (what thankfully turned out to be) water all over me (twice).

I have a rear camera that caught and initial close pass and his registration. Unfortunately the incidents that followed only captured the side of car, so there could be an element of 'it wasn't me gov'.

Have sent report and footage to police and am waiting to hear back.

  • Wow that sounds pretty shit. I've had a few incidents where drivers have started turning into me trying to intimidate me during altercations and one time an angry guy on a moped chase me down portobello road while trying to grab me. Always terrifying.

Oh, and one time on Camden Road a drivers partner started screaming at me which led to an exchange of words which then led to the driver getting out with a knuckle duster hidden behind his back. I saw it and with the help of adrenaline, I told him to put it away and that he wasn't going to use it. Thankfully he put it away. He was shaky AF and we both knew he wouldn't use it. He had 2 kids in the back of his car. I use to just stand my ground but after all of this, I don't think they are all bluffing.

I'm glad you are ok and I hope the footage you have helps your case. I'm definitely investing in cameras when I am back on the bike.

Would freak me out. Unknown liquid suddenly on you, horrible behaviour.
