Oh turns out this is a thing that spesh did for the diverge, might work but angles seem wrong.

The space next to the motor case thing seems to be really small – just black zip ties on both sides? With the red color and black everything wouldn't even look bad.

I did this on a bike I used to own. Originally as a short term bodge but it worked so well that I never bothered changing it. Worth putting some tape on the area to stop the cable ties taking all of the paint off though.

One of them on the back of the seattube as low down as you can get it, plus a bolt and spacers

Ace thanks!!

Tidy, has done exactly what was needed!

I would like some mudguards for my roadbike, thinking about longboards, but... I already have toe overlap and I'm worried I will destroy the guards quickly. Did anyone experience this?

The flaps on my PDW full metal fenders have started coming apart. Has anyone used Raw Flaps on them before? (55mm version mudguards). Do they offer good coverage over the standard quite thin PDW ones?
-
• #5536
I have Raw Flaps on every bike. Yes, they are good. The longer flaps make for better coverage.
-
• #5537
Raw mudflaps are worth it, particularly the longer ones.

Have SKS stopped doing Longboards?
I can only find Chromoplastics in stock.

Guard suggestions for my brother? Had hoped to keep them off for a bit as I like the look without, but a soggy arse commute has changed my mind fairly swiftly.

Something shiny and hammered I reckon.

• #5541
Oh great. Looks good
-
• #5542
I reckon full on shiny hammered would be too much. I would go with something black so they blend into the tyres a bit.

I’m torn on black or silver. My instinct was silver hammered, but my mate suggested matte black and I think that would look nice too.
And also, what do you do about a full guard and track dropouts - is that going to be a nightmare getting the wheel in and out? -
• #5544
Yeah, the bike feels quite sporty, don’t want to go too faux vintage esoterica as it actually manages to look reasonably modern.
These could be a shout:

Minimal but substantialAnd on a random note, this is pretty cool (albeit not why I’m after).

Black I'd say.
VO zeppelins or PDW full metal fenders, or Honjos if you want the best.
I don't really rate SKS alu mudguards personally after using some in the past.

Depends how toight they are, also how far into the track end the axle sits. A bit of a tyre deflate can help sometimes if it is borderline (or if it’s for a puncture repair it’ll be flat anyway, then don’t pump it up till it’s back in)
-
• #5547
See, I’ve seen the Honjos, but I’m slightly paranoid about having to drill them myself (and the price).
Although it looks like they don’t come in 45mm black, just 51mm.PDW do look good.

Would 51mm Honjos be too big on a 35c tyre?

It'd look a little odd I think, but you'd get the good coverage.

Secu-clips. May only work with SKS-style stays.
Before diving in and bodging, ideas please. There are no mounting points for a rack after the brake bridge. There is an ebike cable entry point that I'd quite like to end the guards after to keep water out (rack position as pictured).
Where to attach this to stop it ratteling against the frame and cables?
Initial idea is to use a braze on derailleur clamp below the bottle cage mount and use a long bolt, some spacers and might work?
