  • RIP reynolds 953.
Supply was always bit hit and miss as the raw tubing came from America.
Turns out they finally pulled the plug, but 931 possible 921 both stainless steel still available.
The top steel set is now columbus XCR, and kva stainless is also an alternative too.
Peak steel technology may have already been reached. Although it wasn't to everyone's liking, it held its own in the peloton until quite recently with madison genesis.
Perhaps 953 is to be the new concorde,

  • My Allroad bike from Titancycles. After a lot of road riding and a few bikepacking trips the bike feels great.

Currently riding on Challenge Strada Bianca Pro HTLR 36 (comes closer to 38mm on these rims). Feels pretty fast and can do light gravel as well. The tires were extremely tight and a nightmare to get on a rim.

The frame has clearance for 650x47c tire, but the fork doesn’t. A friend of mine has a spare Columbus Gravel fork so I might give the 650b setup a try at some point for gravel.

  • Looks lovely! How would you rate that seatpost? I'm waiting for one but i'm very well curious to hear some first-hand feedback. TY!

  • Thanks! I have had the inline and the setback versions on a couple of bikes and I really like it! Especially for longer rides the extra comfort helps a lot.

The benefit is way more noticeable when you are riding 28mm tyres instead of 38mm.

You need to clean the seatpost couple times a year because sand will find its way between the seatpost halves and it will start squeaking at some point.

  • Upgraded my Van Nicholas Skeiron from Hunts to Bora WTO 45's this week. Looks like I'm done now (for a while), or please talk me to another upgrade.

  • love the aspect of those forks!

  • Anyone got a Sonder Camino Ti or similar 'do everything' titanium bike?

I'm pondering setting up a 'one quiver' bike and want to know if titanium could be the answer and what frames might do the job.

@Chak - I'm assuming this has gone now?

  • That looks pretty lush, although the secondhand price of one of those is close to the new price for a Sonder. I mean any of these look pretty good, I just need to get my hands on some for a test!

  • I went to have a look at it the other day in the Kingston store. Looks real nice. You can borrow one for a few hours, I haven't yet but plan to soon.

I'm having a similar requirement and just made this thread - https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/388675/

  • Ignore the fake iSen sticker, this is an XL Mark 1 CGR Ti

  • Nice… Titanium fork (or just sprayed)? Curious how it rides, if so.

  • Need to me ti.

It’s supposedly a Wheeler frame. Seems nicely enough made. It must be early-mid 90s as it’s got a 1” headtube so I’m taking it that it being around this long is a good sign.

Needs a new headset, cranksets and maybe some new wheels as I’m not a fan of the paired spokes.

  • Long stem!

  • Long stem!

    Don't stem shame me!

Actually you can, it creaks like fuck! I'll make a stem for it I think.

  • Ti fork, pretty much indistinguishable from a carbon fork at this size.

  • I have just picked this up. I can't find any info on Omega. It might be a precursor to Enigma or it might be a now-closed bike shop in Newcastle, Australia. Any info appreciated.

  • Omega were from Brighton - the builders parted and went on to become Enigma and Reilly ( who unfortunately died fairly recently)
I bought a test frame from them years ago - Ti with magnesium top and down tubes and carbon rear end …. lovely bike and still ride it

  • New frames have arrived, this fellas a test build.
