Due to lot's of things at home like a new baby (lovely, now we have one of those sleepy babies), DIY actions in the garden, much work in the office (which is so unsatisfying because of head count reduction & terminations) slow progress here.
I had some time yesterday to check how the dynamo needs to be mounted (with one of these expensive Paul screws). They delivered the cantilever mount for the right side, even though the left side seems to be the standard side. I checked the order and did not mention a special side – hopefully it's OK no matter on which side it is mounted. Spinning the wheel is somewhat satisfying with the dynamo in contact with the rim, but it is as mentioned by some noisy, not loud, but it makes a sound.
Next will be the Nitto M18 rack which I got from @SoYaap! shipped to my door last week. I am going to mount it with long stuts to the fork eyelets – maybe a stupid idea to mount such a small rack like that, but on the canti sockets there's no place now due to the dynamo, and I think it looks better on the eyelets of the fork than with clips on the fork itself. Of course I have the wrong strut size diameter here (8 mm), so I ordered 7 mm Nitto struts.
The spacer stack with the 1" to 1 1/8" adapter and the Nitto stem is a no-go: it just looks ugly, with the small headset and small tubes. So I'll mount a 1" threaded stem and if somebody needs a Nitto UI-75 stem in 60 mm length > for sale shipped £ 37 to UK?
