I have it on my e6100 Bullitt. It's ok - I'm in the south downs and there's definitely some hills it won't get up - around 10% gets a bit spicy and you have to put a lot of leg power in. I geared it down to 38/27, I think you can feasibly go down to 38/30 but of course you then lose a bit of top end. Might not be an issue with the EP8 though.
Doesn't like changing under any power at all which takes a bit of adjusting to.

That's really useful as I'm also in the South Downs (btw have I seen your bike in Glynde/around Lewes?) and was thinking about a Nexus 5E on an Omnium with an EP8 motor to carry my kids further than I currently do on my unassisted Omnium. Do you think it's the motor lacking power or just cadence not being high enough?

Nexus 5 is yeah mostly over geared if that makes sense. For uk use would fit a smaller chainring (34t i think it's smallest?) and a 30t sprocket on the back, even then 5th gear is pointless but slightly more hill climbing ability. As with all igh, don't add forward momentum when changing gear.
Nexus 5 are fairly fragile tbh, but if you do treat them with mechanical sympathy they work well enough
Any thoughts on the Nexus 5E hub for a Veloe Multi long tail? The other options are the Eviolo TR/HD (I never liked the twist grip on my last Enviolo hub, which made my wrist hurt shifting through the range) or Deore 10 speed (more maintenance, etc).
The Nexus looks decent, but doesn’t have a massive range (268%), and I live in Edinburgh with 2 kids to haul up cobbled hills. But maybe coupled with an EP8 the absolute range matters less?
