• I have a Citroen Cactus 1.2 Puretech. It broke down on the M25. There was a sudden juddering and loss of power before the engine light came on and I managed to limp into an SOS bay. Called the RAC who sent a tech out who diagnosed a faulty coil pack on cylinder 1 and called for a low loader to take us back to Catford.
I ordered a replacement coil from ECP and while I was there figured it was worth picking up an ODBII reader.
I replaced the coil yesterday however the fault remains. The ODB scanner lists faults on coils 1 and 2 however swapping the coils from cylinder to cylinder doesn’t seem to make a difference and the scanner still lists cylinders 1 and 2.
Am I right in saying I should probably replace the plugs at the same time?

  • If it's one could per cylinder, the fact it's reading faults on both 1 and 2 at the same time sounds like a wiring fault to me.
