They’ve certainly had more success with their universal derailleur mount than Shimano have had with their direct mount, and certainly had a better strategy.
I feel like they’re angling for a sustainability angle here with a mount that if you crash and hit your calliper it won’t write off your frame.
I guess we’ll see what happens but they’ve certainly got a fair old share of the top end of the MTB market with their AXS system. Where is Shimano Di2 now?

I think they’re still making XT and XTR Di2 but I can’t remember the last time I saw a bike with it on.
Pinkbike’s photo’s from the XC World Cup haven’t shown any pro bikes with it on in at least a couple of years from what I remember.
AXS seems to have taken over the ,Arles completely for electric MTB gears and I’m not sure Shimano can come back against that.
Brake standards have been around too long. It's about time we got a new one.

Not quite a new standard as such since it looks like it'll still use post mount calipers. But will require manufacturers to make frames with a new mount.
