Slightly related, but I'm a bit of a rollercoaster nerd and as such, occasionally find myself reading forum threads about them. It's troubling how many of the users refer to the rollercoasters as 'she' - leading to phrases like 'I rode her three times that day' and 'she's a rough ride, but very satisfying'. I'm paraphrasing of course because I can't be bothered to go back and find the exact quotes, but you get what I'm saying. It's fucking grotty.
