More genius tactics from Jumbo-Visma.

Prob thought pog was struggling so aimed to put more time into him whilst clawing back time on Jai.
They obvs didn’t expect pog to hang on and then claw 30 secs(?) back, but Vinnie is in yellow and at least they just have pog to mark (for) now. They’d prob have taken this position before stage 1.

What ^@greeno said. I thought it was pretty well timed by WvA. Genius or not, they sure show tactics, or at least different ones from the skybots in the 10s.

Wowsers. Pog just distracted yesterday?

I hope the gendarmes kick the shit out of that prick throwing the confetti at the riders and then fine the deadshit for littering. Same goes for the flare-lighting fuckwits. Wear 'em, don't light them.

30 secs(?)
23 and he was looking a lot less fresh at the end than he normally does!
Jonas wasn't looking all that either mind.

If you take the yellow jersey, your team takes on the responsibility of controlling the race. That's fine in the final week, not so good when you've still got three Saturday stages to come. It was clear on the Tourmalet that Pogacar was on a good day, and Jumbo should've re-grouped then and ensured that at least Kuss was back on for the final climb.
As it was, Wout had wasted energy in driving the break so hard on the Aspin and the Tourmalet, so once he was spent, Vingegaard had to attack. If Kuss was there, he'd have been able to sit tight and wait for Pogacar's attack. Instead, Vingegaard's attack barely troubled Pogacar, who was able to counter and claw back half of the deficit he gave up yesterday.
There's also a complete change in the psychology of the two teams; UAE feel upbeat and positive and are now back in the race, and Jumbo are down and disappointed after messing up their tactics and losing time to the rider they fear the most.
I hope there are more twists and turns to come, but I don't think today was a good day for Jumbo-Visma.

Another boring stage. Enlivened by the idea that anyone would listen to David Millar by choice.
Have to agree with andy, a good plan to start off with but too rigid. I should know, I don't possess an armchair but I have a decent sofa.
Sunday is going to be even better than it already looked like being. -

Will we get an image as iconic as this one?
-
• #45811
Who going to grow the moustache, Pog or Vingegaard?
-
• #45812
I presume Will took that.

• #45813
^^^ And people forget that neither of them won that stage.
It's possible Pogacar hasn't just bounced back but is better than ever, it's going to be a great stage. -

I didn't take it but 118 on the motor bike there later became our window cleaner and later still married a Wigan woman and opened the town's first boulengerie.

he was 1:04 down on V-man yesterday, and is now 25 secs down, so 39 secs no?
-
• #45816
He took 10 bonus seconds to Jonas’ 6, so 30?
-
• #45817
I wasn't disagreeing, just saying I don't think we expected that from Pog after yesterday. If Vingo had dropped him at the end - it may have looked like good tactics, but still it's not ultimately a disaster. The onus is still on UAE to do something.
-
• #45818
I'm prob wrong, just to me it looks like he's 39 seconds less behind V than he was the day before! Doesn't matter.
EDIT - yeah I was wrong, it's 30 you're right, apols.

I maintain this TdF is all fucked up. No rhythm. As a wiseman said to me yesterday, it’s a parcours for the Tik Tok generation.
Pog’s still in his build phase. He’ll be pinging week 3.

Who got DQ'd for deviating from their line?
-
• #45821
willmelling is famously of the tik tok generation
-
• #45822
There was no tik tok when I was setting the Aspin alight.

Briko Stingers, 39x23 and Scott Drop-in bars, it was all about the style.

Sorry the 23 seconds I was talking about was on the line, excluding bonuses, and it was actually 24! So yes 24 + 6 = 30.
Feels like we've skipped a week. How are they going to keep this up for 2 more
