  • More genius tactics from Jumbo-Visma.

  • Prob thought pog was struggling so aimed to put more time into him whilst clawing back time on Jai.

They obvs didn’t expect pog to hang on and then claw 30 secs(?) back, but Vinnie is in yellow and at least they just have pog to mark (for) now. They’d prob have taken this position before stage 1.

  • 30 secs(?)

23 and he was looking a lot less fresh at the end than he normally does!

Jonas wasn't looking all that either mind.

  • If you take the yellow jersey, your team takes on the responsibility of controlling the race. That's fine in the final week, not so good when you've still got three Saturday stages to come. It was clear on the Tourmalet that Pogacar was on a good day, and Jumbo should've re-grouped then and ensured that at least Kuss was back on for the final climb.

As it was, Wout had wasted energy in driving the break so hard on the Aspin and the Tourmalet, so once he was spent, Vingegaard had to attack. If Kuss was there, he'd have been able to sit tight and wait for Pogacar's attack. Instead, Vingegaard's attack barely troubled Pogacar, who was able to counter and claw back half of the deficit he gave up yesterday.

There's also a complete change in the psychology of the two teams; UAE feel upbeat and positive and are now back in the race, and Jumbo are down and disappointed after messing up their tactics and losing time to the rider they fear the most.

I hope there are more twists and turns to come, but I don't think today was a good day for Jumbo-Visma.
