  • Chivaly 2 is free on PS+, fun 15 min games splitting skulls with a poleaxe

  • I've been playing everspace (and it's expansions pack) kind of roguelike spaceship fighting/exploring game. Once you put some points into your attributes, runs get longer 20-30mins, and I still haven't got all the way through.

Also ollie ollie world for laidback skateboard vibes, soundtrack is killer..

  • I am finally going to make an attempt to play Elden Ring

  • Still not bored of TOTK.

    Shrines? Completed 'em m9

  • Today is switchover day, you get CoD, somethingelse and Alan Wake now.

  • Anyone want a barely used OLED Switch for £200? Including charger, carrying case, unused dock and unused controller.

    Collect from Catford or post.

  • Son is acquiring a PS5 after a year of saving and extra chores and sales.

What is the best option for subscription services? I see the EA one. There is a Sony one too? Just want to give him the largest number of options.

  • PlayStation Plus

  • Yeah. I think a Plus Extra membership should be fine. I can worry about the external storage thing at a later date .

  • it's worth looking through the game libraries on the sony website for the different ps plus tiers and seeing how many age-appropriate games there actually are.

I gave my little cousins my old ps4 and was going to buy them a year of extra or premium so they'd have lots of games to play but the library skews quite heavily to the more adult games in terms of violence etc.

  • Ta. He is 10 and mostly wants the F1 game right now. Plus a few other non-shooty ones.

Besides, FPS with controllers is a blasphemy that shall neither be encouraged nor allowed. WASDlyf for the next generation too.

  • Anyone played stray?

  • Can't, am allergic.

  • very linear, push button when you look at the exact right spot to do the specific action kind of game. I abandoned it when it glitched and wanted me to re-do the entire area I had cleared and was trying to leave.

  • For those of a certain age*...

  • I was couch surfing after being illegally evicted when I found Flashback on a friend's SNES (some years after that game came out). OMG. I don't know if there's been a platformer since that had such consistent, flexible and intuitive controls. I could hang from a ledge and know just what to do to land slightly forwards or back from my current positon and so on. Didn't need to refer to a manual (which my friend didn't have) because the way the controls composed was so consistent.

Now that I think back, that friend had a flatmate moving out, he promised me the room when she left, went back on the promise and that's one reason I ended up sleeping rough in London for a while, but hey, Flashback.

  • Loved that game. And Another World, too.

  • ‘Cygnet’ is the code to the last level on the mega drive version. I worked hard for that what, 25 years ago? Still stuck in my brain. I don’t remember any of the other levels having the visual impact of the first, but was impressed by the shapeshifter enemy design (and obviously the rad cut scenes)

  • Finally ordered a PS5 from Amazon. Get a message it was out for delivery watched the dot get closer and closer. I was the next stop 3hrs. Since then I've watch the dot go to roads either side of mine. Then the other side of town all the whole delivery time still says 10:45.

Just now waiting for the message we tried to deliver but you weren't in

  • I had a launch day PS5 stolen by the amazon delivery driver. Never delivered.

Definitely video you opening the box if / when it does arrive.

  • That's shit...good call on videoing opening the box

  • i was the 7th stop for nearly 5 hours yesterday. the van was just bouncing around the local area but not moving up the list.

I've also had it where I was the next stop for a few hours and then it went to "we have some more deliveries to make before we get to you" then "still arriving by 10pm" and it didn't come until the next day.

fingers crossed it's just gremlins in the delivery tracking system.
