it's worth looking through the game libraries on the sony website for the different ps plus tiers and seeing how many age-appropriate games there actually are.
I gave my little cousins my old ps4 and was going to buy them a year of extra or premium so they'd have lots of games to play but the library skews quite heavily to the more adult games in terms of violence etc.

Yeah. I think a Plus Extra membership should be fine. I can worry about the external storage thing at a later date .
