Refurb m1 with more ram and hdd?

They had the budget for the M2 with 16GB/1TB. Could have gone external on the SSD but they preferred internal!

I've had success with this before on Windows (there is a Mac version available)

Does anyone happen to know do Apple laptops all have a ‘find my laptop’ function - like iPhones, iPads and AirPods.
-
• #20382
Yup. Just had to disable it on mine as it was going in for a service.

Thanks. Turns out the file I had opened was an Outlook attachment, so it had saved in a cached Outlook folder then deleted, so never saved properly. Now have the software and working out how to get a backup through NAS (wireless/network). Mac loops when I try and mount the drive in Time Machine so think I'm going to need to speak to NAS companies support the desk to avoid future issues.
Annoying that for that client I normally use a shared One Drive space, and use Google Drive (which is synced to back up on my NAS drive) for all other client/work stuff.

Anyone worked out how to resolve the constant keyboard bug that LFGSS has on iPhone/Safari yet?
-

This disappeared for me. Assumed an update to iOS fixed it?

I'm on 16.5, I can see there's an update queued up for tonight though. What release are you on?
-
• #20388
I’m on 16.5.1 but it has been gone long enough that I forgot about it so don’t think it is a new thing?
-
• #20389
It's every single page load for me still.
Weird that it's not a constant thing but seems device/profile specific. I'm guessing I can't uninstall and reinstall Safari?

I haven’t experienced any issues at all on iPhone. I am on 16.5.1.
I am now tempting fate for issues to arise! -

Latest software release, still does this on every page load. It’s annoying.

Looks like I'm stuck with it forever. What do?

What’s it doing? Automatically focusing on that input field bringing up the keyboard? (Sorry, can’t remember your first posts on this)
-
• #20394
FWIW it still does it on my phone with Safari. I use Chrome to avoid it.

Whenever you navigate to a page that has page numbers at the top and bottom it thinks "oh, an input field, I'll be super helpful and pop a cursor in there and bring up the keyboard".
Which is every page of LFGSS bar the main/initial index page.

So, almost every time you navigate to anywhere in the site you have to dismiss the keyboard pop-up before doing anything else, which got really annoying months ago.
According to VB it's not his problem, and it's on Apple to fix it - but LFGSS is the only site where it happens (that I visit), so I'm not entirely certain that Apple gives a shit about it.

Sell it and buy the Pixel version of whatever you've got?
I'm only half-joking unfortunately. I'm a Mac fanboy but Apple's software seems to have gone to shit in recent years. Every time I upgrade MacOS I anticipate removal of a useful back end feature for no apparent reason, 'improvements' which aren't or a new bug to deal with.
Odd that it only happens on here though.

The odd thing is that it only applies to a subset of iOS users considering how standardised the software is across devices.

Changing phone seems a bit OTT when you can download a browser for free that doesn't have a problem.
Which M2 Mac Mini spec do I buy for someone who's most computationally intensive task is editing dng photos in the apple photos app? Is 8gb memory enough or big advantage to 16?
