  • The former chief pilot quit after they rejected his concerns

He was fired, and when he reported his concerns to the regulators, they did nothing. And following a campaign of legal threats from Rush, he was forced to withdraw his report. This appears to be an accident which everyone who knew anything saw coming, and nobody with actual influence did anything to stop.

  • Basically enough money to pay expensive people to make the law work in their favour.

But none to fix the actual issues.

  • So it turns out Farage is too poor for Coutts, which is why they closed his accounts.

  • But almost over qualifies for Cuntts.

  • Which no one would know about if he hadn’t kicked up a fuss. Twat.

  • But of course he got his in first, so he’ll argue it’s politically motivated to try to embarrass him. (With a by the way, please donate to xyz… for good measure, I’m sure)

  • and there was me thinking it was because of his russian funding.

    allegedly

  • Grifters gonna grift

  • I have to Google that, so it’s a bank for the riches, not for the lackeys?

  • Until recently they would tell you 'it is the queen's bank'. It is like a willy waving debit/credit card, ironically just a branch of NatWest though.

  • They used to require at least £10k deposit in the account which is why it had some status. When Natwest took over they increased the amount required.

  • Not sure if I should be amused or be annoyed or despair at the amount of people screeching online with phrases such as:

"freedom of speech is under attack" (which has f-all to do with bank accounts, but OK, perhaps they are advocating UBI for all so we don't need to tow a line?) "they will come for you too" (late to the party perhaps, unless climate activists/refugees/immigrants don't count?) "the UK is going fascist" (have you read the news lately...oh, that's all MSM now...?)

I suppose alarmist grifters are nothing new. Oh well, we haven't been refused any bank accounts so, I guess we are not politically spicy enough in our house if we can believe Fartage's persecution/victim complex :)

  • Amazing in this day and age frankly that people still don't realise freedom of speech only protects you from being arrested, not sacked/account closed/cancelled.
You can say whatever you want, just don't expect everyone else to put up with it.

  • Probably to make sure the lackeys stay at NatWest and not go to Coutts.

  • Great article on the Titan. Amazing that so many people had so many concerns about it but nothing was done.

    tl;dr
    Titanium > Steel > Carbon

  • It's a profitability thing.

Coutts business model was failing, high costs/low margins. Ever since natwest bought it, it's not been what it was anyway. They've basically reversed that - reduce costs/higher margins.

  • Yes, in fairness £10k deposit was pretty meaningless as a barrier to entry by the time they changed it.

    Now it's £3m in savings or £1 borrowing/investment.

That's not unlike a lot of 'private banking' which people with more than a few million are kind of obliged to use as they provide the sort of protection you don't get from the £85k government backing that most of us can benefit from.

  • Do you still get a named banker salesman?

  • Funny with all the pages of speculation about Farage's bank account, we overlooked the most obvious explanation - he was lying.

  • Stockton Rush meticulously structured everything to avoid any oversight by anybody. Even down to passengers legally not being passengers but mission specialists lol

  • Thanks for sharing this.

  • Capt Tom Foundation closes to donations as council orders building demolition

After saying that they were creating a building that would partly be used “in connection with the Captain Tom Foundation and its charitable objectives”, his daughter built one with a spa pool in it that she's now got to knock down. Maybe he liked a swim.

  • Built on one of the tennis courts, probably easier than on the croquet lawn though.......

  • It’s what he would have wanted…
