I'm already at the limit with mine. I mean, I was going to try the 46T but didn't get around to that. What I really wanted to do was get a 51T MTB cassette with an MTB Di2 RD keeping the 46/30 P2M up front.
I could probably use Gerbaruk stuff to do this (longer cages for Shimano) but I thought maybe there was a way around the weird di2 limitations.

Do you have BSA? If so, why not get a 40/24t spa cycles compact chainset? (Or 44/26t).
Edit; didn’t clock the P2M.

Yeah, I looked into the Japanese ones that I can't remember the name of right now but I'm too stuck on power for most stuff. I still want to get a powermeter for my MTB and stick a 28T on that.

Open the battery pack and replace the 14430 cells with 18650s. You could slap 5x battery life onto the system ?

Not sure where you mentioned a ride down to Brighton, but I'd be well keen on that off road route for partner and I. She's not keen riding on road and I'm collating routes that aren't mental for off road use.

Goal wasn't to increase battery life, it was to run XTR Di2 RD with a road/gravel Di2 front derailler (which Shimano don't allow for some reason).

I’ll let you know once I get more info on the new 12 speed stuff, existing 105 Di2 run 36t max capacity, which mean a theoretical 46t cassette with 12 speed 46/30.

I have the same, anything more than 30/42 and you may as well walk, no?

I’m no math genius, but (46-30)+(46-11) does not equal 36, I don’t think.

Needs to be tested, by looking at it doesn't really look there's more capacity in there than the old Ultegra RX/GRX double, and less choice of cassette sizes
-
• #27812
36t being the max cassette sizes, not capacity

Did the Hertsex Gravel 100 listed above which was fun but gf described my arms and legs as looking like i was engaging in self harm (thanks brambles)

They do seem to finally have realised that we're not all World Tour freaks pushing 100" gears up mountains at 30kph. Who knew? 46/30 will be the new 'Compact' crank for sure.

Everyone says that but I prefer to ride when I can. So the lower the gears, even if I'm riding at walking pace it's better than getting on and off. Plus there's the techy bits where you want a little burst of speed to get up and having lower gears allows that without killing your legs. ie. MTBs with 30x51 or whatever. This might change when I swap my fat-tyres for something more roadie but I'm still likely to ride silly shit on the grav grav

What is the best footwear? I suggest sandals and perhaps there could be a betting aspect to this. But it would need some discussion first to lay out the rules...
Preamble to Gamble on the Bramble Scramble in Sandals with Crumble
My Tripster has been running 46/30 with 11-42T on the back for a couple of years now I think. I've got a 46T here I was going to try it out with but it just flew to Poland today so that ain't happening.
