I think some IGHs need two cables, a push and a pull, could be that?
-
• #26953
Yes, Rohloffs use two cables

No idea! I'll ask if we're sorting bikes out at the same time later on.
-
• #26955
Please do, carbon forks with racks is one of the big issues of nowadays stylish touring!
-
• #26956
Also tell him he needs a silver kickstand ;-)

Such a bummer, it's perfect otherwise.

• #26958
lol, ouch

This is it!
They look like whiskey forks from the cable entry point, but I'm most likely wrong.

I just tried a touring bike with pinion gearbox and a belt drive. It was excellent! Wish I hadn’t.

How did it feel? Crisp changes rather than spongy?

What bars are those on the Woodrup, are they Velo Orange?

Curious about gear boxes. Love the idea, but conflicting reviews. One local guy claims such horrid drag that he could not ride with his normal bikepacking buddy, while he could on his de-railered bike. While I know there are some measurable losses, I think he's likely just out of shape.

Yeah the mk2 crazy bars

Thanks for the link.
It's a great bike, but a pelago rack?
I mean, great racks, but not really the same level as the rest. -

Toured with a Rohloff and absolutely love it. Have nothing bad to say about drag or shifting, it's bombproof and such a satisfying piece of kit for touring.

From what I remember, I only know two carbon forks that can take a heavy rack: Rodeo Labs Spork and the carbon OEM one from the Niner RLT
Edit: nvm refreshed the page and saw the IG link

I was chatting to him and he mentioned that Malaysian helped him get it sorted! Sorry gang, totally forgot to ask about the forks though. I'm sure TM might know.
Edit: I missed the link with the fork details further up!

Bun enve.

• #26972
Rohloff is certainly on my short list of kit I'd like to have a go on.
-
• #26973
It felt flawless.
His bike was loaded badly so it handled not so well but the shifting was great.

I’m often toying with putting one on my tourer. I think trying the Pinion has pushed me even closer towards it.

They're brilliant. I've only used them on cargo bikes but they'll pull 300kg+ of bike, rider, trailer and cargo all day every day and barely need any attention.
What are the three cables to the rear wheel for? One for the hub gear, one for the brake, what's the third one for?
