Just checking in to say that I really don’t get the trek-Lidl kit upset. It looks great! Compared to, say, intermarche or quickstep it seems like a really smart kit. Can’t help but feel it’s discount brand bias amongst English speaking fans…?

Ps great stage today, best first stage for a long while.

I don’t like it but that’s ok! Too many colours for me, it looks like they took a nice kit and added two more sponsors. I like it when sponsors compromise their colours to match the team pallet like Mitsubishi on Gloucester rugby kit, but Lidl clearly have way more ££ to bring so can do what they like!
Anyway, as a one time track league racer against the Yates boys yeeeeesssss!

Mas crashing out on stage 1 when he's third favourite (although I'm mystified as to why) is peak Movistar.

I just think, if you’ve watched the Netflix show and you tune in for your first ever stage of the TDF and you see the pundits with wardrobes so wildly out of sync you’d think the sport’s a bit of a joke.

That shot of him looking really upset got to me though.

Concur, plus the live coverage I find so much more interesting (ok there are ads but I’d take that than Sean Kelly’s commentating). Although Pete K seems to have gone from cycling DS in the last few years to wanna be boy band member this year

Uno-X's Torstein Traeen fractured his elbow in a crash with 80 kms to go yesterday, and is a possible DNS this morning.

This is an annual event on here. This thread usually prevails, because the people who are really interested in pro cycling are already contributing to it.

The only celebration I can recently recall akin to it was Philipsen.
Regardless of whether he thought he won or not he was a bit overexcited but I’m all for that.

Agree although I wish ITV were quicker at making the show available to watch again (it’s normally gone 11pm!).
