Excellent, always liked the look of those deep alloy mavics.

All personal experience but almost everyone I know that has tried a cambium has liked them, I have several . They have just released some "all weather" models with some new materials which should sort the durability issues the early cambiums have.

Thanks for that, going to peruse the Brooks site and get out the tape measure

Want to trade an all black Cambium c15 for the flite? I'm not getting on with it... :(

If @johnnettles2 isn't interested I've got a flite "90s" in mint condition I would swap (postage would be needed as I'm up north)

Been riding this without guards and fatter tyres and a different saddle and decided to keep this after all.
Cash flow rectified so It doesn’t get the chop -

Post needs pics

Phew! I've been in similar circumstances, everything seems fine, then wallop, a big bill to pay, and bikes are the only things I own worth owt.

Bike bits are always the first to go!
Comfy saddle- putting on the Paris roubaixs but am looking at fatter tyres width and length the f and f will fit up to about 38mm but height under the rear bridge might only be about 34 mm do compass Jon bon jovis might just squeeze in but will collect gunk. Put on a record headset to due to it’s lower stack

I've always regretted selling this frame and forks as it only cost me £170 for the brand new frame a few years back. I sold it (probably for house/car related stuff) and have always wondered what happened to it.
A few weeks ago it popped up on ebay £99 start so i message the seller (2 minutes from me) it was my old frame , did he want to do a buy now - he then said "think i'll keep it actually" then withdrew it from sale.
It then pops up on ebay again recently as a complete bike .I message again - do you want to sell me just the frame? Response - "if it doesn't sell i'll just keep it".
For some reason i think he's being a complete T**t in holding on to it and not being willing to sell it back to me as he's clearly quite ambivalent about the frame.Just thought i'd have a rant and if anyone buys it off him can i have 1st dibs on the frame/forks again?
If the seller is reading this please don't advertise it as new and unused because it isn't and if i see you on a ride i'll say hello somehow ...

I remember seeing that sitting on ebay for a while, thought it was a real shame. I hope you get it back, it's a nice looking thing, has some personality.

I mean if you can afford it I’d get someone you know to make an offer on it on eBay (if you make the offer, he might try and squeeze you for more as he knows you want it).
-
• #119
Are you sure you still want it? It’s got a
non- serious shimano chainset
That can’t be good.
-
• #120
Yeah I wouldn’t want that cak just the frame/forks
-
• #121
Yes I think this is the way to go.
-
• #122
It's quite expensive though. The parts ain't worth much when you sell them separately...
-
• #123
It’s overpriced- I thought of buying then splitting but it would be a pain, not financially viable. I almost don’t want to give him any of my $ anyway so maybe should just forget it as it’s already left a bad taste in my mouth

Yeah. I mean I'm quite rusty on todays bike prices, but isn't a grand quite a lot for this bike?

Bloke is all about making €£ - flipping stuff.
Pics from this mornings 3 hour ride around Wiltshire (Imber ranges) . Bike was very comfortable - apart from the saddle - are those new brooks saddles comfortable? Bars need rotation ever so slightly.
No rattles from the bike but a few from me.
Bike feels stable no handed even with panniers on
