• For those with Deco stuff, how is it on reliability?

With the Unifi stuff (until my router broke at least) it was fine without being rebooted or looked at for months on end, unlike my Virgin router which decides to stop working and needs rebooting every so often.

  • I hate writing this as I feel it will jinx me...

I don't think I ever had any issues with my Deco M4 in ~3yrs. Like most of the people in this thread I bought it to fix my Virgin 'super' hub (lol). My OH was quite indignant about buying them, but they've been great from the get go.

We're not super heavy users, but our two M4 covered a 3 bed semi where one person 100% WFH, one person 70% WFH (both 60-80% video calls in a work day), with evening TV streaming usually with Spotify cast to a Google speaker at the same time.

I'm only 3 days into 3 x M5, so it feels a bit soon to comment. But it's basically the same but a bit further down the garden.

  • I also use decos - have had 3 for 3 years with no issue. Added some more to get to the end of the garden - again had for a year with no issues. Easy to set up. Just work. Some of the usage restriction / parental controls are a bit sketchy but I use other stuff for that anyway.

    Mine are all M4s.

  • Cheers. Sound promising, it would be the PoE ones I'd be looking at. Really depends on whether I can be bothered to look into the documentation to see how many SSIDs they allow and other customisable stuff.

(And be bothered to sell off more Unifi stuff.)
