I like the shape of those Syntace bars. I may go down a couple of mm no more they feel comfy like this. I ride on the hoods most of the time and aero hoods position more than on the drops so like the bar/hood shape to be almost like a bull horn base bar

Hope you’re making progress with this. I now can’t attach my rear derailleur. Cannot get the bolt to catch on the threads. Sick of the problems with this expensive new frame.

Mine was the same with the rear mech the threads had paint in them but i think the reason it wouldn't catch is because the paint is so thick on the hanger so the first bit of thread is further away from the bolt than it should be. I had to really press to get it to catch then it was fine. I had it on and of a couple off times to check and its fine. The dropouts were painted as well so getting the wheel in was tight. It's almost built but I'm bored of it as well. I need a rainy Sunday with nothing better to do to get this finished.

Have you chased the threads with an M10 tap? I did not do this after having a frame resprayed and cross threaded a rear mech on by being pig headed.
By rights you shouldn't have to given its a new frame from Colnago, but it's simple to do and should get you going

Don’t have M10 tap. Will add to my complaints list for Colnago

It's finally finished just need to to take some decent pictures. Weighing in at 7.96 kg with pedals, cage and garmin
Light for steel mission accomplished 😊 @Jgf that's the 80g saved with your Tune skewers that dipped it under 8kg mark if it had stayed at 8.04 kg I'm sure it would have been unrideable

Looks great. Now can focus on enjoying it. Hopefully the nice weather sticks for rest of the summer

Great stuff but those bars just don’t look right with regards to angle and size.
Aesthetics are very important with a build such as this one! 🧐 -

Cheers as I was on my way home last night I saw someone riding up the track from Valley Road. I did slow up just in case it was you. It rides great still stiff so you can feel the rough stuff still but nice and zingy on the smoother roads

I've rotated the bars forward slightly so the drops are horizontal and dropped the hoods slightly. The shop had to move my setup a bit as the bars have internal routing that exits really close to the stem clamp. They said everything was marked up so should be in the same position but the bars had definitely rotated backwards abit. I've got these on both my road bike now and they are comfy but I'll keep an eye out for something posh and compact still unless you've got a set of Schmolkes laying around you want to move on?

Why not get some shallow drop ritchey wcs neo classic instead of overpriced carbon

This is how they look now I've adjusted them. They're comfy, match the stem nicely and are super light. I want to stay with superlight carbon to keep with my initial breif. I've always liked FSA compact drops so will keep an eye out for some k-force or slk. For the time being I'm just happy to be able to ride it whilst the weather is still good so no more tinkering until winter 🤞

Looks like I need a couple of new jerseys and a pair of lace ups minimum
Is this more or less the final position for the hoods? Looks very high for these traditional bars.
