Man alive those Stoogeβs look awesome. That one yours?
Thinking of changing the fork on this to rigid.

Not mine, but they do suit SS very well

Been riding this Sawyer today, fits nicely but heavy, thinking of switching forks and possibly getting it repainted.

That's cool. Suspension or rigid forks, the White Brothers ones?
-
• #4691
Suspension. Still feel really good too.

Is that a 160mm Thomson stem or a 170 ;-)
-
• #4694
I think it's actually only a 110...just looks long in the picture.
My dad is from the old school touring mindset though, so it took him about five mountain bikes before he managed to force himself down to sensible frame sizes, sensible stem lengths, and sensible chainrings. π
I was chatting to him last night, and when he rode with some friends from Leicester to Lands End, he was on a five speed close ratio cassette, with a 56t chainring! He just said "I was a lot fitter then" π -

I did have a 150mm Answer Atac on my S-Bike, and my dad got Dave Yates to build him a custom 150mm, negative rise stem for his Marin Pine Mountain he had at the time. That was still mtb number 2 though so he hadn't moved so far away from his touring background. π

I was just now looking up some 25% climb mentioned in an audax blurb and I've ridden it back in 2008 during Tour of Wessex sportive. 53/39 with probably a 25T on the back. I dread to think of the sounds my knees would make if I tried that again. 30x42T ftw.

I hate the fact that I have to ride up City road everyday... I think my King of the mountain days are behind me! π

Be thankful it's not New Oxford with its supplemental oxygen requirements...
My commute for the last 3 years has been a 5 metre stumble from bed to desk. I've almost forgotten what City Road looks like. I came out of LP Street station a few months ago and didn't know where the fuck I was. It's so different around there now.

They're about to redo the whole station too, so fuck knows what it'll be like after that. π

Redo.. again? Even inside the station I don't remember where I'm going now coz I'm coming from Crossrail rather than Central line so I no longer remember which end to leave from to get to either Broadgate or Bishopsgate ends. Oh well. Just need to leave a bit earlier and wander around like a lost tourist for a while again. I do still know a few shortcuts though quite proud to show them off when I can :)
