I'm afraid so.. The adaptor will allow me to try all the lengths/angles from the plethora of 1 1/8 options available with 31.8 bars... I plan to match the polished adapter with a polished/nickel plated stem in the end.... Or find what suits me best and purchase a proper 31.8 compatible quill stem for the long term.. Either way I have time to seek out deals in local classifieds or eBay/Amazon before collecting the frame in October.. My current quill stem is only 80 mm long with a 25.4 bar.
