  • After speaking with my cousin, I have decided moving forward with an inquiry for local pickup with prepayment... Despite being offered the Nagasawa, I could not accept it based on the fact it was gifted from one of his dear friends..

My previous steel butted frame was a 52 top tube by 52 seat tube road geometry... The Anchor frame that interests me is a 52.5 top tube by 51 seat tube.. I would be pleased to have an equal feeling ride and even more overjoyed to have it feel tighter/ more nimble.. I would appreciate any input from current/ previous njs owners concerning their experience with fit/feel on their bikes... And be honest if you bought one too big/small just for the paint job LoL.... I kid

  • Don't overthink it, if the TT is 0,5cm longer you probably won't even notice it, otherwise get a different stem.
Paintjob is definitely the most important factor.

  • With much consideration I decided to go with a Bomber pro/ Columbus max fork... Only problem I'm having is PayPal.. I want to pay with my Visa/Mastercard.... That will be a deal breaker if they can't accept my method of payment.

  • My cousin who lives in Meguro will be seeing the frame in person to validate the condition.. Here's a link to the One

  • That frame looks great!
    50mm is nothing!
    Change the stem #internetbikefit!

My first one was too small and I bought it for the paintjob... worth it for a good couple of summers and then sold it on for the same I paid. Pics here.

You should be able to link your card to Paypal and still make the payment that way too.

Hubs and hardware will be cheaper if you buy them from NJS export at the same time.

  • Dang, that Makino is beautiful.. According to the pictures, it had aesthetically pleasing seat post/ stem proportions.... But the heart wants what it wants LoL.

Done deal!! Started planning a Birthday ride/meet up in Japan with my newly acquired njs frame... Toshi from njs export was generous enough with his time to meet up with my cousin at a train station.... For that, I would highly recommend them based on customer service and satisfaction.. Pics of build will be in October.

  • Big fan of Toshi.
    Absolute boss.

  • Good stuff!!

  • Very nice. Pearly white.

  • Frame looks great👍
I've seen a lot of Bomber Pros I like, many cool paint jobs and they say "Bomber (/Pro) on them which is a plus

  • I appreciate the positive vibes... This is my old ishiwata exo frame with a nicer seat clamp configuration.. I loved it but suffered from track end'vy. I'm sure it had slacker headtube/seatube angles than the Bomber

  • ... So my Kashima saddle needs a re-cover.. Gonna look into using the material with print for refinishing. Dug out sumthin sumthin to carry a 6pack if I get thirsty.... Any ideas how to mount to an undrilled brake bridge front fork?

  • It's not a very elegant solution but you could try fixing it to the bars via the raised up bit with cable ties or some other some other hack? I think on a 52 frame your head tube might be short enough to make it work.

Or you could use one of these brake adapters just as a mounting point?

They're expensive for what they are tho, like around 10,000 yen level

  • I may have to rethink the rack for what it's worth... it was mounted to a Fuji track with a drilled brake bridge previously.. Got a bit excited about putting risser bars/front rack but I can live without...

Thanks for the Input... Maybe I will try to strap the front to the handle bars or find a Jack Rack

  • I found an interesting touring/ cruiser bar for a decent price... Even considered putting sweep back bars for kicks and giggles.. Picked up a stem adapter to open up stem options. Its been tough finding a threaded 22.2 stem to fit 31.8 bars.

  • I hope this is not for the Bomber

  • I'm afraid so.. The adaptor will allow me to try all the lengths/angles from the plethora of 1 1/8 options available with 31.8 bars... I plan to match the polished adapter with a polished/nickel plated stem in the end.... Or find what suits me best and purchase a proper 31.8 compatible quill stem for the long term.. Either way I have time to seek out deals in local classifieds or eBay/Amazon before collecting the frame in October.. My current quill stem is only 80 mm long with a 25.4 bar.

  • Please just get some nice 26.0 bars

  • These bars are 26mm for sure... They've suffered some standing falls and scuffs from leaning up on cement walls but no crashes so far.. I have looked into quill stems that fit but no luck yet

  • What do you mean with; quill stems that will fit?

  • ... Maybe a 26.0 flat bar would work in a stem designed for 25.4 but wouldn't the bends in a road drop setup have trouble negotiating the bends trying to thread it into a single bolt stem without a front 4 bolt face plate?

  • I've had a stroke of fortune being given a gift from my longtime friend... Only a chain away from being ridden.... No plans to put gears on it
