Internal car dimensions, do they exist? Do manufacturers / retailers publish them? We’re in the market for a new family motor and want maximum indoor space. But comparison is tricky when the best I can find is boot size. Cheers.

I found it infuriating last time I had to look for dimensions. Sadly not very helpful.

That’s good to know anyway, it’s not just me struggling.

You get the differential, in liters with rear seats down. That is about it.

Estates (from our shortlist anyway) apparently larger than SUVs (S), so if external dimensions have any baring on internal size, we're leaning towards a Passat or Octavia.

Passat is nicer Fwiw. Boot is very ample.
I think that there is more rear leg room in the Superb, which is where the extra room when seats are down comes from.

I've had a Mondeo, a Passat and now a Superb. I think my order of preference is
Superb > Mondeo > Passat

Having been in a superb, I definitely enjoyed how roomy it was compared to my 3 series.

The chassis for the early 2000s Skoda Superb was shipped in from China,
where it was the basis for the 'L', (extra 4 inches of rear leg room),
for the SAIC/VW Santana:

How does it compare to a honda accord? They are massive but usually diesel

Ford learnt loads from owning Volvo to make the Mondeo really good but not as good as the xtype estates

I mean they're basically an enlarged Golf where someones forgotten to drag the corner of the box to maintain scale
I was looking at one the other day thinking it might not be a bad replacement when our Golf dies. It looked extremely modest compared to the tanks in our nursery car park.

Is there a year that had a sliding door for extra practicality?
Handled it like a pro by all accounts.
